The legumes grow underground, with leaves growing in bunches aboveground like groundnut plants, though pointed and lighter in color. The legume pods normally contain single nuts.
HABITAT
Native to hot and dry tropical Sub-Saharan Africa, it is planted as a nitrogen fixer and commercially grown in Indonesia, where it is called 'Kacang Bogor'.

Taste much like groundnuts, with a pleasantly earthy flavor.
COMMON USE
Eaten boiled or roasted as a snack, and can be processed into nut flour.
USE IN DEWAKAN
Used in the peanut and chilli salsa that is served with the keladi telur dumpling.
