BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION
A rhizome in the same genus as turmeric, it has very bright yellow flesh in comparison to the pale yellow of regular ginger.

The scent is not as pungent as turmeric, it tastes a little like young green mango with an earthy hint of turmeric.
COMMON USE
Made into chutneys. Its yellow tinge is used for several rice dishes around peninsular Malaysia, like nasi kunyit and nasi ulam.
USE IN DEWAKAN
Temu pauh is used in a consomme.
